Dear Colleague,

RE:

COLLABORATIVE PRACTICE TRAINING

The internationally recognised Collaborative Practice trainer, Marion Korn, will be conducting Advanced Collaborative Practice and Introductory Collaborative Practice Courses in July. Marion Korn has trained in Canada , the USA , UK , Austria and Australia and has published work on Collaborative Practice. She is a founding member of Collaborative Practice in Ontario , and a founding member of the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals (IACP) Advisory Council on Practice and Training.

An Introductory Collaborative Practice Course presented by Marion Korn will be offered in Brisbane if we are able to obtain sufficient interest.

Much interest has been shown from practitioners waiting for a course in Collaborative Practice to be offered in South East Queensland and we are very excited to have this opportunity presented to us.

This course will be held over two days from the 29-30 July. The location of the course will be advised upon registration.

The Introductory Collaborative Practice Course offered will focus on the paradigm shift required for Collaborative practice with an emphasis on the steps and stages involved in a collaborative case and the move from a 'rights-based' approach to an 'interest-based' client centred approach. To indicate your interest in attending this course offered in Brisbane or to register please contact Marilyn Scott, whose details are below.

The Introductory Collaborative Practice Course will also be held at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS) and will run for two days from the 22-23 July.

An Advanced Collaborative Practice Course will also be held at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS) and runs for three days from the16-18 of July.

The Advanced Collaborative Practice Course offered has been customized for those practitioners who have already undertaken Introductory Collaborative Practice training, in Australia or overseas, through a recognised IACP trainer. This Course will centre on the skills required to assess suitable matters and clients, establish strong relationships for collaborative lawyers, client support in collaborative practice, debriefing between lawyers and with clients and structurally analysing negotiation strategies and tactics.

To indicate your interest or to register for the courses available please contact Marilyn Scott, whose details are below. Please note however that the closing date for registration is 1 week before the course commencement date.

We would be very interested in any feedback you could provide us with regarding the training if you are able to attend any of these courses.
